Benedict Cumberbatch by En-joyYourLife Benedict Cumberbatch by En-joyYourLife
Decided to make a wallpaper with Sherlock. A really good series with really good actors.
This wallpaper is first in a row i guess, coz i really much like Benedict's face. I can't say he's handsome, but he is appealing in some sort of specific and charming way.

Gorgeous, endlessly gorgeous. A Study in Shadows: Benedict Cumberbatch's features. I would not call him handsome in a traditional sense, but watch him closely and he is simply mesmerizing. He completely inhabits the space around him when on screen and has such total control over his face that by the minutest flicker in expression, one can tell Sherlock's gone from glee to insult to pride. Oh God, don't get me started. There is no other actor on earth I am more impressed with at the moment and no other person I'm more obsessed with.

I saw in the reply to another comment-er that you've seen Hawking ("!!!" pretty much covers it) and Amazing Grace (I'm of the opinion that he -is- stunningly beautiful in that film). Not sure if you've seen more of his works since, but might I very highly recommend Van Gogh: Painted with Words? He is incredibly intense in that docudrama; he simply becomes van Gogh, and it's now hard for me to picture the (in)famous artist any other way. And if you ever, ever get a chance to see him on stage... Well. I think it's hands-down his best medium. :D

Oh dear, I'm really sorry for the rant! I try to curtail myself, but I never can seem to when it comes to this man...

^^ That is BC you are talking about, and he is amazing. No wonder that one can talk hours about him )) I really much love the actor and wish him all the good luck and success.
I've seen the movie Van Gogh: Painted with words, and also Atonement, short story named Inseparable, a heartbreaking movie Stuart: A Life Backwards (though i couldn'd enjoy the full measure of it, becouse it was without subs and my english is not that good to understand everything), also i have watched Small Island and Tipping the Velvet, and The Other Boleyn Girl...
I have watched everything i could find ^^ And some interviews on the Net, which just comletely convinced me that he is charming.
It would be a great pleasure to see him on stage. If i went to London, one of the first things i would do is getting tickets for a play)

Great minds think alike!

Oh wow! Hello there, fellow Cumberbatched fan! ;) He also stars as the lead in the tv series To the Ends of the Earth as well as The Last Enemy, and he's got small bits in Four Lions and Creation, but what I'd recommend most of all is the radio series Cabin Pressure. His character's an easily-agitated, persnickety captain of an airline company who failed his license exam seven times yet wants nothing more but to fly planes his whole life. Mr. Cumberbatch has a great deal of fun with Captain Martin Crieff's voice :) It's a very worthy series in its own right too, with beautifully fleshed-out characters and genius writing.

I apologize again for taking over your comments page with my ramblings. I wasn't quite in my right mind last night.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - anyone playing Sherlock Holmes instantly becomes one hundred times more attractive because of the character.
Not that I didn't adore BC in everything else he's been in!

Well can't say anything but agree with you. I'm not sure that I would be so charmed with BC if I saw his previous films earlier than I watched Sherlock. Sherlock Holmes though he never existed in reality sometimes seems more real than living beings, and actor who manages to portray him well gets a ton of his charisma in back.
In spite of SH is being adapted so many times, there are only some of actors who are well known for playing this role: Jeremy Brett, Basil Rathbone, Livanov and now BC. What can i say - good luck for him, and really good job done.
I can say that there's only one movie which could impress me perhaps as much as Sherlock, if i happened to watch it earlier: Hawking. It's just a masterpiece, and BC is brilliant there, i loved the movie since i first watched it and have already re watched it a million times )

I never saw Hawking but he was brilliant in Small Islands and Amazing Grace (but not attractive). He's just a fantastic actor and you have to be to pull off a character like Holmes.
And I agree that despite being completely fictional, the character has such a lasting legacy. I find it really sad that Arthur Conan Doyle never truly appreciated his creation!
Aw well, I can appreciate SH more than enough for the both of us :D

I've seen Amazing Grace, and definitely will try and find Small Islands to watch it.
Hawking is profoundly worth seeing. BC is the leading character there so the movie is totally focused on his play. It is a touching, inspiring story about a strong and gifted man, who was capable of really big things in spite of his destructive disease. Based on a true story.
(I have a plan to draw BC's character form the movie ^^)
